What is a Farm Gym?

A Farm Gym is very similar to a normal gym…but with some exciting extras. Here at The Farmyard Gym we focus on ‘functional fitness’. Whilst all muscles are functional and so all exercise is technically functional, we focus on the ones that help you perform everyday activities such as carrying your shopping bags, picking up things from the floor or being able to sit down and stand up from a chair with ease.

The thought process is to make these everyday activities easier and so therefore your life better.

Compound exercises are a favourite of ours, these are exercises that use multiple muscle groups at the same time. For example, a squat or a deadlift, these exercises both use much more then just your quads or hamstrings, they use the whole of your leg and hips as well as plenty of core and upper body to make your torso rigid and able support the weight.

This way you can also get more out of your exercise session, training multiple muscle groups at once is time efficient!

Here are some of our favourites down at The Farmyard Gym:

1. Deadlifts

2. Squats

3. Farmers Walks

4. Tyre Flips

5. Ball to Shoulder

6. Sled Push

7. Sled Pull

8. Pull Up

9. Push Press

10. Lunges

Come down to the Farmyard Gym to give these a try and unlock that farmer strength!
